When I began my journey with Christ I thought it was strange that people were calling each other brothers. I was used to hearing “bro” in a totally different context (e.g. “what’s up bro?”) and so at first I thought it was just some old guys trying to be cool. It strikes me as ironic that many of us intentionally seek out friends and churches that serve us. We want people and ministries that “feed” us. And when we don’t get that, we find other people and other places that do. And in so doing, we are actually seeking out sacrifice that pleases us. Continue Reading

As You Go…

“As you go, make disciples,” or “You who are going, make disciples.” Either way, I think the meaning of Jesus’ great commission is to live life in such a way that we make disciples just by the way we live, act, speak, serve, love, etc. Another way to think about it, we are supposed to be missionaries where ever we are, where ever we go, whatever we do.
